General Description
The BC7820 is a single-chip radio and baseband IC for Bluetooth 2.4GHz systems including EDR to 3Mbits/s. It includes an integrated FM transmitter and receiver with stereo audio input and output stages and RDS modulator/demodulator.
With the on-chip CSR Bluetooth software stack, it provides a fully compliant Bluetooth system to v2.1 + EDR of the specification for data and voice communications.

Applications
Smartphones
Low-end Cellular Handsets
High-end Cellular Handsets
Personal Media Players
PDAs

CSR designed BC7820 to reduce PCB area and the number of external components, including no requirement for an external balun, ensuring that production costs are minimised.
BC7820 includes AuriStream, offering significant power reduction over the CVSD-based system when used at both ends of the link.
It incorporates auto-calibration and BIST routines to simplify development, type approval and production test. All hardware and device firmware is fully compliant with the Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR specification (mandatory and optional features).
A wide range of coexistence features are available including basic activity and Intel WCS activity and channel signalling.
The device can support receiving or transmitting FM radio broadcasts with simultaneous use of Bluetooth voice or data connections.
