General Description
BlueVox™2 is a low-cost fully-featured ROM chip solution for mono headsets with extremely low power consumption. It's based on CSR's BlueCore™6 Audio ROM IC, offering a Bluetooth radio, baseband, DAC/ADC, AuriStream CODEC, switch-mode power supply and battery charger in a low-cost compact 7x7mm QFN package. An ultra-small 4.5 x 5.5mm BGA package is also available. BlueVox™2 also includes a configurable echo and noise reduction feature in hardware which reduces headset echo and wind noise allowing the headset user to be heard more clearly. It supports the latest Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR specification which includes Secure Simple Pairing, greatly simplifying the pairing process. The device incorporates auto-calibration and built-in self-test (BIST) routines to simplify development, type approval and production test. BlueCore™6‑Audio ROM QFN has been designed to reduce the number of external components required. The device includes AuriStream™, which offers significant power reduction over the CVSD based system when used at both ends of the link. All hardware and device firmware is fully compliant with the Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR specification (all mandatory features).
