Suprema released a PC fingerprint SDK for Linux platform

Suprema launched a Linux version of UniFinger™ Engine SDK (Ver.3.0) to meet increasing demand of Linux based PC fingerprint application developments.

UniFinger Engine SDK is a software development kit based on Suprema's award winning fingerprint authentication algorithm. Together with SFR-300 series USB fingerprint scanners, the SDK can be used to develop various fingerprint applications including time attendance, desktop security, POS and ATM. The SDK provides a core fingerprint identification library designed to be easily integrated into various application software coded in a different programming languages.

Over the last decades, Linux operating systems has gained more and more popularity not only in commercial fields but also in public and government projects. The Linux based UniFinger Engine SDK was developed to meet these requirements. The Linux SDK can operate on most of the popular Linux platforms including Debian, Fedora and Ubuntu. For easier development, the SDK also provides sample source codes for its various APIs including parameter setting, capture, enroll, verify, identify and template/image management functions. Suprema also released a Linux driver for SFR300-S fingerprint scanner.

With the addition of a Linux version SDK, UniFinger Engine SDK now provides wider range of operating systems. Besides the launch of the Linux version SDK, Suprema enriched the Windows version SDK by adding sample source codes for Delphi applications and a Windows log-on program.

The Linux version SDK will be supplied separately from the regular Windows version.
